"As a real admirer of Indian food and as a reasonably good cook I ALWAYS wanted to make this food myself. I arrived with a friend and was warmly welcomed by Ela into her home. We spent an amazing time with her being shown and taught with great patience a variety of techniques and created some beautiful dishes. The flaming of the chapattis was my favourite bit!"
"Ela makes the cooking experience a very interesting and enjoyable one, bringing warmth and insight into how to cook both well-known and interesting unusual authentic Indian food. Having used Ela’s lessons for two separate birthday gifts I found that her excellent organisation, knowledge and wonderful interpersonal skills made the lessons a joy to participate in. The resulting food was excellent, quite an achievement given the skills of the participants! Everyone couldn’t wait to eat the food and even re-created the dishes for a New Year’s Eve celebration which was a huge success.
We also loved Ela’s stories about how she learnt to cook. We are still working on how to shape chapattis’ perfectly! I can recommend unreservedly Ela’s lessons; a great time will be had by all. We certainly gained a great deal more knowledge, confidence and skills form taking part in them."
"The lovely Ela from Cook Eat Joy in Bush Hill Park has been a massive hit yesterday at our Memory Lunch Club - she delivered a mouthwatering lunch that was easy to eat, delicious as well as healthy. Thank you, we will have you back!"
" I attended a cooking session with my daughter at Ela's home where we learnt how to cook several authentic dishes. As my daughter is vegan it can often get difficult thinking of new things to cook for the family that we can all enjoy. The recipes we learnt were delicious and have now become a firm staple in our family meals. Especially the cauliflower and pea curry! Ela is warm and welcoming and very informative. It was a really enriching experience for both my daughter and I and I would highly recommend it!"
